RIP Munehiro Narita

Parece que murió hace tres años, pero no se ha hecho oficial hasta ahora. Cosa que también pasó con el cantante de Rallizes Denudes, Takashi Mizutani, raros japos con sus raras costumbres:

de Black Editions:

"“To me if feels like the light has suddenly turned to green and I put my foot down. Like my stomach gets left somewhere behind me. I love that feeling. It’s like you’ve left your brain aside and just gone ape-shit. The music flies on ahead. And on stage when I’ve got some huge amps turned up I can feel all kinds of stuff, not just the sound of the guitar - noise and feedback and the wind from the speakers. That’s pretty close to the thrill I get from riding a bike. There’s a lot of rock musicians who are into bikes but most of them won’t bring it into their music. I think I’m just honest and let it all come out in my sound.”

- Munehiro Narita
Munehiro Narita’s passing in July 3, 2022 was made public earlier this week. He was truly one of the greatest artists to ever pick up the electric guitar. Endlessly inventive and original, his work was unmistakable and exhilarating. He was also an extraordinary human being, kind and generous, always good to work with. He has our eternal gratitude and admiration and will live on through his music.
The above quote is excerpted from a long form interview in the Autumn 1996 issue of G-Modern Magazine, first published in English in Opprobrium #4 and now available in the Black Editions Archive, there is a link in our bio.
